Support:

This photograph shows Steelhead trout in their natural environment along the Umpqua River in Oregon. The health and reproduction of fish (especially Steelhead trout) is dependent on the conservation of Oregon’s national forests. The conservation of streams such as the one is this photograph also provide economic benefits and clean drinking water for surrounding communities.

Audience & Agenda:

The Associated Press image website provides photographs from previous and current news publications. While funded by subscription, the site attracts approximately 4,256 U.S. monthly people and is popular among a college educated, largely female crowd.

Usefulness:

As an iconic fish of Pacific Northwest national forests, the Steelhead trout has inhabited innumerable national park rivers, streams, and pools. In pre-visualizing photographs for my final presentation I feel that this photograph (along with others that I intend to take) can paint a scene of national forests. To capture the viewer’s attention and past connotations, the opening content of the presentation will focus on the beauty of park wildlife, forestry, and recreation.
